At the moment, all we can do relates to the first of your suggestions. Use as little gas as possible. Buy local products. Get involved and send letters to our elected representatives saying it is time to wisen up and STOP any further drilling offshore until there are new regulations that work and have been proven to work successfully. Push for alternative energy. And keep apprised of the current situation. Canada should be a leader in the resolution of this particular problem and in developing future policies that make sure this deos not happen again. We all knew it would happen after the Exxon Valdez experience, but collectively stuck our heads in the sand and hoped it would go away. Can't afford to do that again.
